Monday Photo Blog: Garett Fisbeck

April 20th, 2015 by

Being from Oklahoma, I’m always a little surprised and stoked to see that punk is still happening there, and seemingly bigger and healthier than when I first got involved in the 1980s, during the days of NOTA, Death Puppy, No Direction, Brown 25, and some band called the Flaming Lips (their first 12″ EP is actually pretty damn good psych-punk). The mere idea that something like the recent Everything Is Not OK fest seemed impossible back then. But seeing these photos and the crowd, things have definitely changed. This all went down at the Conservatory, which is in Bricktown, if I remember correctly. Honored to add these to the  Monday Photo Blog. This was one of those times it was hard to narrow it down to a small few photos. I do plan to run more in the near future. Also, you can see more in the latest issue of MRR. You know, the printed version of the site you’re on.

Monday Photo Blog: Jose Canales

April 6th, 2015 by

Jose Canales sends three colorful shots to the Monday Photo Blog from the five star of five star venues, The Acheron in Brooklyn. Terveet Kädet, Question and Heathen. All here and in your face this spring break, or if you’re not a rich kid (A rich daddy? I ain’t never had one!) in college, and have to work, then enjoy from your cube, or on your phone when the foreman is somewhere else on the site.

Monday Photo Blog: Jussi Jänis

March 9th, 2015 by

It’s over to Finland for this Monday Photo Blog with Jussi Jänis. Five nice in the thick of the action photos that allow you to get a sense of the energy without having people in your space. What could be better? Well, Jussi also has a new photo book, which you can get for a mere $15 plus postage (that’s the part that hurts, but aren’t you hardcore? What’s a little pain when you’re punk as fuck?). Send an e-mail to rabbitsfoot(a)mail.com (you will have to add the @ yourself, I don’t want to have Jussi get hit with a bunch of spam from all the lurking crawling trolling for your information systems that pervade our interwebs).
