I just dug out my copy, and read the original liner notes..Thats pretty heavy for a HC record now..It seems as if anyone who professes any sort of "political" opinion/thought kinda gets shot down for it. "Fuck that, just play!" type shit.
I agree with Felix that the level of manipulation has reached "Orewellian" proportions-I mean shit like myspace & facebook? were putting everything out on the "wire".. Likes, dislikes, daily actions, up to the minute activities via "twitter" if you think about it, shit is fucking insane.--At any rate-WELCOME TO 1984 was and is my favorite HC comp, the first "punker" I'd ever met (who was an Assistant Librarian @ my Junior High school) gave me this on a tape (my 2nd "real" punk tape the first was givin by him as well, Flex Your Head side 1-G.B.H "city baby...rats" side 2) and It blew me away, I remember putting it my walkman on the way out of school-and fuck..That first riff..I wanted to slam through everyone crowding out the door, and with that blasting in my ears, it made the world look and feel different..Really different for the first time. Now, @ 30, every time I hear that riff, I still wanna break shit.. Thanks for re-pressing the vinyl.

I don't always agree with Felix, but when I do...

right on man. I had a head start, I got to see Raw Power on their first US tour (those were some sweaty, hairy fellas) and that set me off looking for european HC.

This very revered comp gave me BGK which I will forever be grateful for.
