MRR #348 • May 2012

  • Out Of Print

In MRR #348, we say farewell to Holland’s legendary SEEIN RED, architects of the European HC scene in various forms for close to thirty years, who played their last show in March. But that’s not all! We celebrate May 2012 with a hilarious and informative interview with noize terrorists of note DISORDER, true legends of UK82, some Greek hardcore courtesy of ANTIMOB, and some Greek garage psyche punk from ACID BABY JESUS. We’ve got rad Finnish punks LEBAKKO, the out-there sounds of APACHE DROPOUT, and Heather from San Francisco’s hook-laden WAX IDOLS in conversation with Lorna from early Chicago post-punkers DA. Shall we go on? There’s Brazilian HC ragers DEFY, SF goth punks CRIMSON SCARLET, Australia’s LEPROSY  with their modern take on UK82, some mutated brainwave hardcore from Southern California’s NASA SPACE UNIVERSE, a look at the record label Konton Crasher, and a continuation of our one-page interviews with classic Italian HC bands, this time with NEGAZIONE. All o’ that plus the usual array of columns, news, and the most extensive punk rock review section in print. Read it and weep!

Submit

MRR is contributor-driven, which means that we rely on punks like you for content. You don’t need an invitation to be a part of what we do.

MUSIC

For review and radio play consideration, send two copies of vinyl or one copy of CD-only or cassette-only releases to PO Box 3852, Oakland, CA 94609, USA. Send us the final version of your record—we do not review digital releases, test presses, or promo CDs.

We will review everything that falls within our areas of coverage: independent punk, garage, and hardcore. This means no major labels or labels that are exclusively distributed by major-owned distributors. We reserve the right to reject releases on the basis of content. Music without vocals or drums will not be considered.

Every record that is reviewed is added to our archive, the largest collection of punk records in the world. Please allow two months from your mailing date before following up to ask if we’ve received your submission.

WRITING

We are always looking for interview, scene report, guest column, and photo submissions. Submission does not guarantee publication. In order to improve the chances of your submission being printed, please read our FAQ.

ZINES, BOOKS, MOVIES

In addition to records, we also review independently published and produced zines, books, and movies. Please send physical copies to PO Box 3852, Oakland, CA 94609, USA. If you have a streaming link to your film, or if it is playing in the San Francisco Bay Area, please email the information to carolyn@maximumrocknroll.com.
