Just because this is one of my favorite bands doesn’t mean I’m biased. This is great! Imagine a fuller-sounding Las Vegas Story / Death Party, a must for all GUN CLUB fans. OK, maybe a little biased.
Never known for being a great live act (too drunk to rock), this line-up of GUN CLUB (same as on the first LP) must’ve had an “off night,” cause they hold it together pretty good. While not nearly as great as that classic debut album, this ’uns perty gud.
This new release lacks the dirty, manic feel of their classic debut album. Maybe it’s the production, loss of bass player, or more country twang, but the magic only happens on a few cuts. Second Album Syndrome strikes again.
