Monday Photo Blog: Midwest Can Be Alright
I’m from the Midwest and more or less fled to the West Coast as soon as I could. I’ve moved back to the Midwest a few times, but here I am, out in the Bay Area again. When I’m here, I miss the Midwest. When I’m in the Midwest I can’t believe I ever left California. Grass is greener and all that. Despite the many qualms I have with the Midwest (and even because of those qualms), I have a soft spot for the Midwest. So when Bobby Hussy — himself a Bay Area transplant from the Midwest — sent a batch of photos from a recent trip back to Madison for Chopperfest, it caught my eye. I bumped his photos to the top of the queue.

And given the little theme of this week’s photo blog, I thought I’d close with these two gems, both from my native Indiana.

If you shoot shows and have photos you want to submit for the MRR Blog, send to: photoblog@maximumrocknroll.com. Be sure to put “MRR Photo Blog” in the subject. Include your name, the band, where and when it was shot. Just send your best photos — edit tightly. Three to five photos is plenty. We like to exercise a little quality control here…not everything sent in will be posted. Please size your photos so they are 600 pixels (72 dpi) at the longest side.
