Band name:
ASTHMA
Date & location formed:
October 2013, San Francisco.
Reason for forming:
To get wasted, and forget.
What are your lyrics about?
Getting extremely torn up, in order to cope with living in a city that’s constantly kicking us out of our houses, taking all our money, and sucking the life out of us. Having too many pot edibles and getting too dabbed out. What it smells like to be wasted in the TL with the zombies.
How would you describe your sound?
“Funeral dirge punk” someone once said… We’re influenced by sludge, ’80s hardcore, nardcore.
What’s in the future for this band?
Playing as many parties/shows as possible and doing tours.
Date & location formed:
Roughly September 25, 2014 in the slums of Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Reason for forming:
Matt (vox), Mateo (bass), and Davis (drums) were feeling a bit low down after Juliet moved to Philly to pursue better opportunities. She had played guitar with them in a crust/doom band named Decrepit Existence. Mateo and Davis are both students at MIT (fuckin’ nerds) but made time in their schedule to keep making sick music, all we needed was a new guitarist. Alan met Mateo and said he was down to jam so out of the ashes of Decrepit Existence and out of Matty’s love for Japanese hardcore/D-beat/all things Japanese like Zyanose, Disclose, Ektoplasm, GAI, and GISM rose Rejiem like a dark omen to remind the world of the threat of nuclear devastation.
What are your lyrics about?
Warfare, the evils of the military industrial complex, nuclear war, neo-imperialist fascism, ruckus and noise!
How would you describe your sound?
It’s Japanese worship. Noisy, crusty, grinding, pounding raw punk with metal overtones.
What’s in the future for this band?
We just finished recording our demo tape and have given it to several distros around Boston. We are looking to record a split soon with Necklacing and perhaps another EP in the works. A couple of shows in the local area and a small tour in the spring (NY, PHI, NH, CT, VA)
