CORRODE

How did your band come to be?
It was time to start another band.
-
What are your lyrics about?
Global collapse. Living in the age of ruin.

Aggressive Hardcore.

SOAKIE
-
Date & location formed:
We formed January 2018 in Melbourne, Australia.
-
How did your band come to be?
Austin and Summer are from Philly/NYC and met Chumz and Nellie (originally from NZ) in Melbourne, Australia. With a three month expiry for the band looming (due to visas), we had our first full practice on a Monday, first show on the Sunday, and recorded a demo two days after that.
-
What are your lyrics about?
Yelling about the patriarchy. This spans from calling out the power imbalances in the music industry, to speaking out against harassment on public transportation, being a proponent of sex positivity, and anti-capitalist anthems.
-
How would you describe your sound?
Dirty and silly, angry and dancy. Infiltrating the masculine standards of hardcore by sneaking in some BRITNEY SPEARS. It is hardcore for people who hate hardcore. Cringe-worthy scratch enough to make your mom cry… mine did.
-
List something or someone you think folks need to listen to right now.
Not all-cis-white-dudes.
-
What’s in the future for this band?
New LP, and USA (east coast and mid-west) tour June-July 2018!
Child’s Pose
-
Date & location formed:
2017, London, U.K.
-
How did your band come to be?
Sop: I had gone to see The Headcoatees play a surprise set at a Billy Childish show, and got excited and asked Richard to do something similar. We don’t sound like them though, as I can’t do the screams! We watched Oli play drums in his band Sarcasm and decided that we had to have him… he’s incredible. I had played with Kai, the sickest bassist in London, briefly before and we really wanted to play together again.
-
What are your lyrics about?
Sop: They are all story-based- either real stories from my past, as a teenager, or imaginary towns/scapes with people who don’t exist. Feral is an anti-normative queer anthem!
-
How would you describe your sound?
Sop: New wave pop music played by punks.
-
List something or someone you think folks need to listen to right now.
Sop: These awesome UK based bands!
Big Joanie, The Fish Police, Tweedle, Big Cheese, Middex, Alimony Hustle, and The Worms. -
What’s in the future for this band?
Sop: A 7″ released by Nervous Energy Records. Then hopefully we’ll play more shows (only played 3 so far) and do an LP someday!
GERMEN
-
Date & location formed:
The band was formed in December 2017, but our first show was just in March 2018… we’re in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
-
How did your band come to be?
Germen was formed after the dissolution of our other bands, Los Caidos, Ulcera, etc. We couldn’t stay quiet and we decided to continue playing wherever. We recorded our first 3 songs and then we got together to rehearse… so we started in reverse, haha.
-
What are your lyrics about?
Our lyrics speak mostly of our personal experiences and how we feel today, of how much it costs to live, and the problems that each of us face.
-
How would you describe your sound?
Punk¿¿¿ ajajaja…
-
