More 60s retro from Sweden — actually pretty cool stuff here, with rave-up vocals, trashy sound and even… a Farfisa organ that doesn’t sound nu-wave. “Eegah” is fully charged instrumental that has the sound of going right over the edge. Very cool and on blue vinyl.
One of the greatest snarly teen voices in the neo-’60s vein, combined with a rockin’ R’n’B combo makes for hot listening. The addition of Farfisa doesn’t really help a lot, but the band is so astute that it certainly doesn’t hurt. Excellent.
These guys had an extremely zany and attacking sound, deeply rooted in an early SEEDS mold, but rarely does that manic aspect surface anymore. Only one of the six tracks here really approaches that intensity. Instead, they settle for decent organ-dominated ’60s punk with no stinging guitar and no psychotic vocals. Too studied.
