An anti-Christian rage here, sort of like the first CRASS 7″ but set to a more post-punk mood. Nevertheless, it’s as biting and pointed. Both male and female vocals, nice harmonies on the flipside, though the dance beat on one cut and the “prettiness” on another make them difficult to handle until the guitar and drums kick in.
Quite a turnaround from this band’s earlier flaccid release. Don’t be fooled by the rockabilly image of the cover or title; this baby’s got some classic Australian R’n’R, containing elements of ’60s punk, BIRTHDAY PARTY, RADIO BIRDMAN, etc. Rocks out, and comes with a free 12″. Cool, and right up there with the NOMADS. Coming out soon in the US on Sounds Good.
These Australians continue to put out interesting records. This LP contains tracks in their ’77 power-punk sound as well as more eclectic sounds that rock. Can’t say I like it all, but for a band that’s been around so long, they still pound.
The OPERATION IVY of Japan? These guys utilize a slightly ska approach to their punk and HC, a ragged but enjoyable edge. Four tunes.
