Fixed Up Take a Look at Me EP

A guitar-oriented R’n’B band with a real basic approach, in the tradition of LITTLE BOB STORY and the SEAN TYLA BAND. This old-fashioned type of music requires a raunchy, almost “live” sound to really hit the mark in this day and age, and FIXED-UP don’t always achieve it here. “I Can’t Sleep” and “Miss T” are cool, though.

Both sides are typically rockin’ Aussie stuff, with a DOLLS sound updated by Motor-City-type late-’60s rock. Rock’n’roll, dudes.

Sluggard Kings Tell Me / No Lies 7″

Bands that are (and look) heavily ’60s influenced shouldn’t use song titles of ’60s songs for their own compositions. The A-side is not the STONES’ title, though it is a decent pop tune. The flip is too insipid to go into.
