Screaming Toenail

London’s Screaming Toenail celebrate the history and growth of black, queer, anti-colonial resistance.

Out today, ‘Growth’ their first full length, is about growing back bigger and louder whenever you are cut down. Righteously raucous and shot through with thrumming melody, it’s a timely release from a band of visionary artists and committed activists. We’re excited to premiere their video for ‘Sever’ here, a swirling paean to finding the small, disregarded parts of you that have something important to say. Shot by Arnaldo James in Trinidad and Nicola MJ Davis in London.

Later this week we’ll share a conversation between the members of Screaming Toenail and Big Joanie’s Stephanie Phillips, and be sure to check out our instagram for a 24hr Takeover by the band to get clued in on what’s going down in London and beyond.
