The subtitle to this edition of Tom Foote’s long-running Chattanooga punk zine is the very apt “Self publishing during wartime.” Bristling with rage and merging personal reflection with a wider politics, the zine compiles three texts, two from 2016 and one reflecting on the first half of 2020. This is my kind of zine—meandering through reflections on ignorance from the Gulf War to post-9/11 to Trump, social media, Nostradamus and his predictions on the third Antichrist, and a report on the beginnings of COVID, anti-lockdown protests and the BLM uprisings after the murder of George Floyd. Peppered with lyrics and collage throughout.
